This trip is one that is very fun and can be done time and time again. Located just an hour and half north of Phoenix, Sedona provides a neat family fun getaway. We have been on this trip many times and each time, we see something different every time. We've been on a helicopter tour twice with Red Rock Helicopter Tours. This is probably the best way to see Sedona in the shortest amount of time. When you get to the airport, located on Airport Mesa, you enter the terminal and get to look at a lot of unique aviation items. When your flight is ready, you are driven out to the helipad where a helicopter is waiting for you. Tours range from 15-45 minutes, depending on how much you pay and how much you want to see. On our tour, we flew into Secret Canyon where we were met by breathtaking views as well as Indian ruins not accessible by foot. Later in the flight, we got great views of Sedona and Highway 89A which runs through Sedona.
Numerous resturants and shops line the packed downtown section of Sedona. See below for more ideas for recreating and directions on how to get to Sedona.
